Over 250 Bais Rivkah mothers joined together for an evening of inspiration, socialization, and enjoyment on Wednesday night in Crown Heights.
The event, titled Welcome Home, opened with pop-up shops featuring 12 vendors. Mothers browsed and purchased jewelry, knit baby clothes, tichels, crafts, fur coats and more. After an hour of fun shopping, the program began.
Mrs. Rivka Weinberg emceed the event, which started off with a video presentation exhibiting 80 years of Bais Rivkah’s growth.
Mrs. Chana Vigler, a Shlucha from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, (and a proud Bais Rivkah alumnae), passionately addressed the crowd. She stressed the significance of creating an exciting, hands-on atmosphere for our children to experience the beauty of Yiddishkeit. Hands on experiences, versus simply responding to parental instructions, will cause them to own their Chassidishkeit. Mrs. Vigler emphasized the unique role mothers hold as an akeres ha’bayis in designing a warm, loving atmosphere in our homes.
VIDEO: Mrs. Vigler speaks
Following Mrs. Vigler, three mothers and daughters performed touching duets.
Mrs. Clara Chaya Epstein and her daughter Mushka represented the elementary school. They sang “A Yid”, touching on the emunah that guides us.
Mrs. Esther Freeman (@esthersmusic) and her daughter Charna, representing middle school, sang “V’zekani”, describing a mother’s prayer.
Mrs. Dina Bronstein and her daughter Chavale from high school sang about beginning the next stage of life.
They concluded with a grand finale, composed by Mrs. Clara Chaya Epstein, expressing how mothers and daughters are branches of the same tree.
The program concluded with the launch of “It’s Not Just a Story.”
An exciting project that provides Mothers with the opportunity to write a storybook that transmits chassidishe values to their children. The winning submission will be published and placed in every preschool and primary classroom, with the writer receiving $1,000. Submissions should be sent to [email protected] by February 12th.
This event is part of the year-long celebration celebrating 80 years since its founding of Bais Rivkah by the Frierdiker Rebbe.
Events have been held celebrating the students and mothers. See below for upcoming events celebrating the many demographics that make up the Bais Rivkah’s family.

I am a mother and I think this is a beautiful initiative to involve mothers.
It’s been many years since I’ve been in any system. There’s often a feeling of loneliness and not having a place to belong.
Please continue doing such events!
Feeling like the community cares and appreciates mother’s can do wonders.
Happy mother’s = happy kids.
Sad to have missed this 🙁 It looks like a truly beautiful event and an amazing way to create a feeling of community.
