The lights dimmed, the stage set, and Bais Chana students in Orange, CT, got ready for action as Production night 5782 rolled in. A magical evening of song, dance, and drama celebrated unshakable emuna in HaShem, based on the story of the Aguilar family’s escape and triumph during the Spanish Inquisition.
Under the capable direction of Mrs. Rivka Fenton, and headed by the senior class, the students of Bais Chana owned every part of the performance. From costumes to scenery, choreography, tech, props, backstage, and more— all carried out with incredible investment and poise on the part of the students. Every girl had an active role (even multiple roles!) creating a masterpiece where each student was able to contribute and shine. Through their performance, the audience walked away with the play’s inspiring message to rely on HaShem and remain steadfast under the most difficult of circumstances.
“The production, which took place before Pesach, gave BCA students the opportunity to work together as a team and create something exceptional, utilizing everyone’s talents. The achdus amongst the girls was heartwarming,” said Mrs. Bluma Hecht, principal. “And the message of the play couldn’t have been more timely, as difficult events around the globe continue to unfold.”
