Dear friend,
As we delight in the joy and happiness of Purim and the excitement of the day fills our schools and shuls, our brothers and sisters in Eastern Europe are experiencing a Purim unlike our own.
While we will sit down to festive meals with families and friends, thousands of Moldovan Jews and Ukranian refugees are suffering. The ongoing effects of the war has made life expenses unbearable, and people are starving and cold, unable to afford basic necessities of food and heat. They too would like their children to rejoice and taste the happiness of Purim, and for this, they need our support.
Over the past exhausting year of war, Moldova opened its doors to Ukranian refugees, providing for them, and ensuring they had all their needs met. Now, the threat of war hovers over Moldova itself. The Ukrainian troops have approached Moldova’s borders, airlines are canceling flights, and all are concerned, for with just one strike, the entire region can enter into an all out war, with all of Europe involved.
In addition to dealing with the outrageous rising costs of living and the cold, due to the increased, unaffordable price of gas, the spirit of war now hovers over everyone.
We must bring a sense of normalcy and joy to their upturned world, and that is where Chabad of Moldova is here to help. We need your assistance in aiding the Moldovan Jews and Ukrainian refugees with the financial support that they so desperately need.
Your generosity will ensure that our brothers and sisters in need are able to regain their dignity and slowly rebuild their lives.
Help them have them have a joyous Purim while we celebrate our own!
