Original lithograph of ‘When Moshiach Comes’ by Michel Schwartz, the only work of art to ever be commissioned by the Rebbe, is now available for purchase.
The signed and numbered lithographs are available for the special price of $500 (originally $770) for a short time.
This commemorative work to honor the Rebbe’s 90th birthday illustrates and
discusses some of the wondrous things that will take place when Moshiach comes. The background text consists of 387,000 Hebrew letters describing
the biblical references to the coming of Moshiach as well as many statements regarding ‘Moshiach’s Times’ by Rabbis throughout the centuries, including the Rebbe’s. These limited edition pieces are signed and numbered by the artist and have now become a collector’s item.
Michel’s inheritance of a rich Judaic Tradition came from both his parents, decedents of a long line of prominent rabbis and scholars.
Born in Catskill NY, in 1926, where his father served as Rabbi, Michel later studied at Yeshivot Toras Chayim and Yaakov Yosef after his family moved to the more ‘Jewish environment’ of New York City. His artistic talent was recognized early by his family and teachers, and at the age of 13, after agreeing to continue his religious studies, he was enrolled in the New York School of Art and Design.
Michel worked directly with the Rebbe prior to his ascension as the ‘Rebbe,’ illustrating a variety of Lubavitch publications. This experience left Michel with a most profound impression and his respect and admiration for Lubavitch is expressed in much of his work.
All proceeds of the sales of these items will be donated to Tzivos Hashem to help them continue the work that they do for Jewish children worldwide.

I had the privilege and honor of living next door to Michel & Josephine Schwarz from 1999 until 2005. Everything they spoke about him was absolutely true. He was so upbeat and optimistic and he just loved to talk and enlighten people about his art and its meaning.
