On Friday afternoon over 500 people attended a sold out event featuring holocaust survivor and Anne Frank’s stepsister Eva Shloss.
The event was held at the Arvada Center, a premier cultural center in Metro Denver and co-hosted by Rabbi Benjy and Leah Brackman of Chabad of NW Metro Denver and the Arvada Center.
A VIP reception kicked off the event where Eva Schloss met with the guests and signed copies of her memoir.
The feature event was held in the center’s main theater. For an hour Mrs. Schloss held the audience spelled bound as she described the horrors of the concentration camps, betrayal in occupied Holland and her relationship with Anne Frank and her family. The silence was interrupted by collective gasps, laughter, applause and a standing ovation.
The event was concluded with a call by Rabbi Brackman for participants to light Shabbos candles that evening in memory of the victims of the Holocaust and in merit of the survivors.
Mrs. Schloss is doing a tour of the Rocky Mountain region and will be visiting Idaho, Wyoming and Utah before returning home to London.
No video? Too bad. Looks amazing.
Rabbi Benji Brackman is a good man
That auditorium is packed! It looks like a wonderful, inspiring event…another success by Leah and Benjy! Kol hakavod
