Camp Gan Israel in Parksville, New York, hosted a hands-on learning workshop for its campers this week.
Presenting it was Rabbi Yosef Serebryanski, a sofer scribe of Torah scrolls, tefillin and mezuzos, and an alum of the veteran overnight Chabad boys camp.
Campers witnessed an informative presentation on the process of Tefilin making and writing, to help visualize what they’re learning in learning classes.
Unique to the presentations was the small intimate setting and a chance to practice their safrus skills with real feather, ink, and parchment to write their name on and keep as a memento.
