President Donald Trump does not speak Yiddish, but he may appreciate a new Yiddish song nevertheless.
“Trumpele” is a new single released by Chassidic singer Benzi Tabak that praises the 45th president’s tenacity to forge on despite setbacks.
Ari Farkash composed the song, with lyrics written in Yiddish by Tabak. The men’s choir accompanying him was led by Itzik Filmer.
“This song has been sitting in my head for 2 years ago,” Tabak said. “But it is being released now exactly when Trump needs to overcome another obstacle – his impeachment in the Senate.”
Tabak said that the song “tells the story of Trump who had countless trials, tests and obstacles that he each time skips over and doesn’t raise his hands or gives up.
“The terms bump, jump and Trump rhyme well,” he added. “The message is that every time we face a bump, we should jump just like Trump.”
He added the endearing “le” to Trump to make the president’s surname sound more heimish like Moishe’le. The result was the song titled Trumpele.
about time someone made a song for him…but he deserves a little more credit than just a aong. isnt this a chillul HaShem? lets make him a parade when he decides not to go foreward with his peace plan
They know the arabs will never agree to peace so I doubt it was ever intended to be put into place.
Many frum Yidden see the President as a disgraceful person who plays all sides for his own use. His last sop to us was a joke – the Palestinas would never agree to his “peace plan.”
Let’s put our trust in HaKodoshBorachu to take care of us – not political figures.
Are you suggesting we write a song HaKodoshBorachu’le?
