It takes a Rebbi like Rabbi Moshe Reinetz to transform grief into generosity!
Rabbi Reinetz isn’t the kind of Rebbi you just “have”; he’s the kind of Rebbi you treasure, and remember always. He’s the Rebbi who sticks up for you during the thick of a fight, notices when you’re moody and irritable because you’re simply hungry, and finds just the right food. Yup, he checks in with you casually to find out how things are going, and gives students advice to settle in, academically and socially; to feel comfortable in the class, and make new friends.
When Rebbi was absent one day, and his students heard Rabbi Reinetz’s father had passed away, the boys were deeply saddened.
When only six weeks later his mother passed away, their little hearts were deeply crestfallen.
They came up with multiple strategies of how to give Rebbi nachas. From thoughtful what’s app voice notes during his absence, to telling him how much mishnayos they were learning in his parents’ memory, to bringing treats to incentivise other students’ learning, they were all in! It was very touching to watch our children brainstorm, and find ways to show up for their Rebbi.
What Rabbi Reinetz has done, in turn, is to be honest with his students during this year of aveilus, and enable them to be a part of the changes he is working daily to bring about in his parents’ memory.
His newest: As Pesach nears, Rabbi Reinetz tells his students about how his parents’ distributed money that was provided by Reb Laibel Zisman OB”M to give to poor families and Shluchim in need.
Rabbi Reinetz tells his students that he endeavors to take this mitzvah even farther, and be mechanech the children who didn’t make it to a Jewish school like theirs; children who didn’t have the privelege of sitting in his classroom to learn all about their history, heritage and the upcoming Yom tov of Pesach. He is committing to reach them too!
For this, he has partnered with Release Time, and created the first of it’s kind! A Pesach package for Release Time children. This program provides for all of their Passover needs, enabling Release Time children and their families the opportunity to experience Pesach to the fullest… Many for the first time!!
Please join us, parents, students, and community, as we stand to support Rabbi Reinetz’s powerful new initiative… Broadening his parents’ work, and reaching a whole new demographic of New York City children… Utilizing this precious opportunity of the night of the seder to enable young children to connect deeply with their heritage, and the Pesach experience. Let’s give them a seder to remember for a lifetime!
Join us by giving to Rabbi Reinetz’s holy work!

*Rabbi Reinitz teaches the third and fourth grade at Lubavitch Yeshiva Ocean Parkway. He has long been a beloved, personable teacher, whose very presence is a great motivation to his students, as he works tirelessly to bring out their greatness.
Rabbi Reinetz is the best Rebbi! I still remember him years later.
Rabbi Reinetz is the best Rebbi in Lubavitch Yeshiva!!
Rabbi Reinetz is a truly dedicated and caring Rebbe.
May this beautiful initiative merit an aliya for the neshamos of his parents.
BH we were very lucky to have Rabbi Reinetz for 2 of my children.
The above well written article does not come close as to how good of a Rebbe he really is. He understands each childs personal needs, whether its in the books, social or personal. He learns each child and then gives all he has to help them succeed in and out of Yeshiva.
Kol Hakovod Rabbi Reinetz! All The Brochos to you and your family B’Gashmious U’Bruchnios!
He was my third grade Rebbi 18 years ago and I still remember his class!
As a children therapist, I have worked with many teachers and Rebbes. None compare to the excellence that Rabbi Reinertz exemplifies in his classroom. He truly loves each and every child!!!
Rabbi Reinitz taught my son for 2 years, although he is now an adult, he still mentions that he was the the most caring Rebbi he ever had!.
What can I say? When our son was badly treated in school, Rabbi Reinitz (a previous, much loved teacher) was supportive of him and us. Since we moved overseas I didn’t know he lost both his parents, but I’m sure they are shepping nachas from their compassionate son. Who, by the way, is married to a very special lady, who was MY student! Like marries like! Wishing you continued hatzlacha!
May Hashem give R. Reinitz a lot of strength. And he should be comforted. Just an example to show how R, Reinitz tries to cater to each student individually. He was our teacher In the year 5757 in 3rd grade. By the end the year he bought prizes for everyone for different things. Effort, achievements….. In the back of my mind l, if I remember correctly, he gave to everyone either a toy or story books. However, I got a sefer for learning ( המלך במסיבו). When he gave it to me, he said that when he was buying the… Read more »
