A special delegation of representatives from Chabad across the world will join the Holtzberg and Rosenberg families – families of Rabbi Gabi and Rivky HY”D – for a special Chanukah parade that will go through the city of Mumbai, beginning with the public lighting of the eighth Chanuakah candle.
Rabbi Shimon Rosenberg, Rivky’s father, made the announcement yesterday about the delegation. He said there will be approximately one hundred people going to India, on Motzei shabbos 10 days from now, on a special flight.
The parade will start with lighting the menorah, the eighth candle, in front of India’s Gate in Mumbai, and will continue to the Taj Mahal hotel. It will end at the Chabad House where the Rabbi, his wife and four other Jewish people were murdered.
Rivky’s brother, Rabbi Shmulik Rosenberg says that the parade will follow thier usual path of activities throughout the years. “The whole family will be there, along with chassidim from all over the globe. We are very exited and thankful to the individuals who are helping to plan this special event.”
In Afula, at the end of the shivah, they started writing a sefer Torah in the memory of the slain Rabbi and his wife, and Afula Mayor Avi Al’kabetzannounced yesterday that his city will allocate a plot of land for a 770 replica Chabad House. The project will be funded by a group of businessmen in the diamond industry.
