A Miracle Told in Haditch

A group of Chassidim, Shluchim and local Jews spent this past Shabbos at the resting place of Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, Founder of Chabad-Lubavitch.

The kever of the “Alter Rebbe,” author of the Tanya and Shulchan Aruch, is in Haditch, a small town in Ukraine.

Leading the Farbrengen over Shabbos – coinciding with the yahrzeit on Friday, 24 Teves – was Rabbi Chaim Sholom Deitsch, Rosh Kollel Tzemach Tzedek in Jerusalem.

Visitors prayed and said Tehillim, asking for success and health for their families and friends.

One of the guests, who flew in from the U.S., related that a friend of his who was married for 26 years and remained childless had come to Haditch last year.

“He came here with his wife and said the whole Tehillim,” the man said. “This past year she Baruch Hashem gave birth to a baby boy.”

Rabbi Deitsch, listening to the story, remarked: “It is no wonder, as the Baal HaTanya writes that when he asked Hashem that in the merit of his self-sacrifice every Jew should be answered as if he is a Tzaddik on Rosh Hashana.”

Hospitality in Haditch was arranged by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Deitsch and his son Schneur Zalman Deitsch.
