Billionaire businessman Levi Leviev, a major contributor to Jewish causes fueled by his ties to Chabad, received Mazal Tovs this week for marrying off his son Shmaya.
A Sheva Brachos party for the young couple was held Monday in the Nova hall in Tel Aviv, hosted by Chief Rabbi and Head Shliach in Russia, Rabbi Berel Lazar.
Lazar, the Shluchim in the former Soviet Union and the Federation of Jewish Communities of the CIS are benefactors of Leviev.
Among the well wishers were Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, who flew in from Brooklyn to thank Leviev for being a role model for giving charity.
Mazal Tovs were also delivered via video by students of Leviev’s Chabad-run Ohr Avner schools across Russia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
Rabbis Itzik Wolowik and Zalman Zvolunov of the Bukharian Jewish community in New York presented Leviev with a collage of photos of his family with the Rebbe.
The entertainment enjoyed by participants was by Yoni Shlomo who sang, and a clip of music superstar Lipa Schmeltzer getting wishes for Leviev from locals in the Machane Yehuda market was shown.
