For the third year, the Menachem Education Foundation (MEF) will be organizing a summer convention for Chabad women educators and teachers to be held at the Huntington Hilton in Long Island.
This year’s theme is “אל תגעו במשיחי – Meeting Today’s Challenges, Teaching Today’s Treasures,” with the aim of inspiring mechanchos as to the unique zchus of teaching a generation with unmatched kochos, the generation of the גאולה, while at the same time providing tools and resources with which to reach today’s students and meet their unique needs.
The two day immersive and rejuvenating retreat will feature sessions and speakers ranging from experienced Mechanchos to psychologists and other experts, to address the many aspects of teaching in today’s classroom.
Teachers will also be treated to delicious meals by Turk Catering and a luxurious environment produced by Sovereign Planning, with sessions geared to their own Ruchnius and Gashmius enrichment. The highlight of the convention, as always, will be the Chinuch Banquet and subsequent farbrengen, open to educators and guests alike.
The convention program, being planned by a committee of over a dozen Mechanchos, currently includes Rabbi Shais Taub, Dr. David Pelcovitz, Mrs. Henny Bartfield, Rabbi Yossi Rosenblum, Mrs. Sarah Chuzhin, and many others.
The program will offer parallel workshops for teachers of all grades and levels of experience to choose from, with exclusive tracks throughout the two days geared towards Early Childhood educators and School Leaders, respectively.
On many occasions, the Rebbe encouraged educators to gather to learn and grow their skills, especially in the summertime. In previous years, Mechanchos have left this convention uplifted, refreshed and with new tools and strategies for another year in Chinuch.
Mrs. Baila Arenstein, who will be attending from South Africa, said, “I was exposed to a wealth of information as well as a lot of practical skills, which I have already started implementing Baruch Hashem.”
According to Ms. Esti Newfield, “I was reminded that this is a shlichus, an avodas hakodesh, and I feel like I am a part of a worldwide network of teachers who are here to change the world.”

Is there something similar for those of us who teach in nonChabad schools that are alos not as frum? I would welcome something like this?
I couldn’t attend last year and I’m so grateful it’s being offered again!
How about for the men? they need it more then the amazing women because they didn’t go to seminary like we all did. They try to teach but really most have no clue how to help each child. They do more damage than good. ( there are a handfull of exceptionally good rebbis) we need more then a few to make it work. Thank you for all the effort that menachem education brings to our teachers.
I teach in an out of town school with limited resources to support their teachers’ continuing education, and I have attended the Menachem Foundation’s summer seminars for the past few years. Even as a seasoned teacher, I ALWAYS learn new pedagogical techniques and approaches. It is all presented within the framework of the Rebbe’s approach to chinuch. Who said chassidish and professional can’t go hand in hand? I have seen representatives from both tiny schools and huge schools ALL benefit from this conference. The Menachem Foundation’s motto is “Making chinuch your shlichus.” Thank you so much for giving us guidance,… Read more »
What are the dates of the convention?
