Bienvenue à Tel Aviv!
The growing French speaking Jewish population in the northern part of Tel Aviv have now a couple of Chabad Shluchim to lead and guide them through life.
Rabbi Israel Arnauve and his wife Estie will arrive in Israel after Pesach to establish a Chabad center in Tel Aviv, focusing primarily on French speaking residents and tourists.
In recent years, Tel Aviv has witnessed a massive wave of tens of thousands of French-speaking, young people, adults and families, who decided to settle in the city, explained Rabbi Joseph Gerlitzky, Tel Aviv’s Head Shliach.
“We are sure that Rabbi Arnauve’s efforts to instill Yiddishkeit and transform the lives of his fellow Jews to become observant of Torah and Mitzvos will be crowned with great success,” Rabbi Gerlitzky said.
Both Rabbi and Mrs. Arnauve grew up on Shlichus and spent their youth in various outreach roles. Israel was born and raised in Paris, where his parents run the Chabad center in the 11th arrondissement, one of the most densely populated urban districts of Paris.
Estie was raised in the Philadelphia suburb of Yardley where her parents Rabbi Yudy and Miriam Shemtov have been directing Lubavitch of Bucks County located in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
The Arnauves (pronounced Arnovs) join the many Shluchim in Israel’s largest city, including Rabbi Mendy and Chana Attal who are already serving French speaking Jews at Trumpeldor Street in Tel Aviv’s City Center.
The new Shluchim will also be serving the many visitors and tourists frequenting the Tel Aviv Port, the commercial and entertainment district along the Mediterranean Sea also known as Namal Tel Aviv.
Beautiful! What a proper Chabad family! a role model!
In 1970 the Rebbe sent a group of 6 bochrim- Shluchim to help out R’ Muleh Azimov o”h who was overloaded with work. Every Sunday there was 7 magid- shiurim (one Muleh plus six the Bochrim -shluchim), starting 1:00 until 7:00 pm, everyone gave two or three shiurim. One of my shiurim in was ‘hascholas gemorah’ After one month in the season Aronov came to my shiur, I complaint to Muleh that it’s not fair, Aronov is new and will slow down the entire shiur. Muleh answered, what could I do, you are giving the beginers-gemoroh shiur, please let him… Read more »
