On Tuesday, June 23, 27 Chabad-Lubavitch Centers and Institutions in the Greater Delaware Valley joined together in a historic Gimmel Tammuz event marking the 26th Yartzeit of the Rebbe.
Each year, the Chabad-Lubavitch Centers join together physically for an inspiring evening in honor of Gimmel Tammuz. This year, due to the current restrictions the event took place virtually, however it reached even more people totaling in over 1,000 viewers.
The event “26 Minutes 26 Voices” featured inspiration and lessons from 26 individuals who have been personally impacted by the Rebbe. The program was hosted by Rabbi Yudy Shemtov of Bucks County, Pennsylvania who shared relevant inspiration about this auspicious day.
The event began with a musical presentation by Chassidic Superstar Eli Marcus who performed beautiful heartfelt Niggunim leaving the crowd awed and inspired. “You were able to feel the passion and holiness of the songs from the way he performed,” said Steven of Chabad of Philadelphia.
Rabbi Avrohom Shemtov, Senior Shliach to the Philadelphia Region delivered the keynote address leaving everyone inspired and wanting to connect to the special day and continue on completing the mission that the Rebbe left over to each and every one of us.
Followed by the keynote address was a meaningful video presentation of 13 individuals whose lives have personally been affected by the Rebbe. They shared meaningful and inspiring moments that they experienced as a result of the Rebbe and his living legacy. “The presentation brought tears to my eyes leaving me awed and inspired by listening to personal encounters from ordinary individuals just like me,” said Barbara from Chabad of the Main Line.
The guest speaker of the evening was Joseph Telushkin, author of New York Times Bestseller: Rebbe. Telushkin shared 5 lessons he learned during his research of the Rebbe while writing his book. This presentation was followed by a live dialogue where participants had the opportunity to question Rabbi Telushkin and in turn receive brilliant eloquent answers to provide a deeper perspective as to who the Rebbe was.
“This part of the program was particularly fascinating to me as I was able to really understand who the Rebbe was as a leader and more so as the kind and loving individual he was. I am inspired by these lessons and I too will try to implement them into my life” said a participant.
The evening ended with the opportunity for all the participants to join in an interactive session given by local Shluchim on a vast variety of topics to further their knowledge and solidify their inspiration.
The event was directed and produced by Dovid Weinbaum of A Team Productions and spearheaded by Rabbi Yudy Shemtov, Rabbi Menachem Schmidt, Rabbi Shraga Sherman and Rabbi Mendy Cohen.
