It began with the Avtzon sisters, who serve as Chabad Shluchos in 5 different cities, were trying to think of ways to engage their communities during the Covid-19 pandemic which has been keeping everyone isolated in their homes.
The sisters created “Cooking Shabbat with Sisters,” with each one presenting a different dish for Shabbos and demonstrating how it is done.
The idea quickly took off around the world, as dozens of groups of sisters joined their mothers, sisters-in-law and other family members for zoom sessions in which they invited their communities to enjoy a peek into their kitchen and learn about making Shabbos. Some men even joined with their male family members to create cooking demos as well.
The Laine family, with 8 sisters living on Shlichus around the globe, and their mother, Mrs. Henya Laine of Crown Heights, have come up with another variation on the sisters theme – a learning session in preparation for the upcoming holiday of Shavuos.
Mrs. Henya Laine, known for organizing the Crown Heights women’s Shabbos Shiurim for decades, will be joined by her daughters Chanie Rosenblum, Pittsburgh, PA, Bassie Kalmanson, New Haven, CT, Fradel Laine, Panama, Sara Azimov, Paris, Dinie Rapoport, Mequon, WI, Dobie Rubinstein, Surfside, FL, Mashie Hazan, Milan and Rivkie Lipskier, Orlando, FL.
Join the Laine women from around the world for one powerful hour, as they explore the Ten Commandments.
