The excitement was palpable this week when more than 5,000 children who are registered with Chayolei Tzivos Hashem’s youth programs received a special holiday treat—the new illustrated Chabad Haggadah.
A joint project of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch Publications (Kehot) and Tzivos Hashem, and newly released hard cover was sponsored by Rabbi Moshe & Ruti Weiss, Shluchim in Sherman Oaks, CA.
The uniquely shaped narrow and tall Haggadah was written in easy-to-understand language, and designed with a clear font to give young readers an appreciation of the Pesach Seder.
“The Rebbe instructed in 5747 (1987) that children should have a Haggadah with beautiful illustrations,” says Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, Director of Chayolei Tzivos Hashem.
“With over 120 informative tidbits from the Rebbe’s Haggadah, and dozens of stunning illustrations, this is truly ‘The Rebbe’s Haggadah’ for youth!”
Excitement for the new haggadah peaked this week when the books were to 40 Lubavitch schools nationwide which run local bases of Tzivos Hashem.
Additional copies were sent to 700 children of shluchim who participate in Chayolei Tzivos Hashem in association with My Shliach, run by Rabbi Mendy Shanowitz.
Especially thankful were the teachers and school staff who were thrilled to have such a powerful and practical tool to teach children the Rebbe’s explanations on the Haggadah.
“The students feel very empowered because they are actually able to understand what the words of the Haggadah mean, and see the Rebbe’s explanations woven into the translation,” said Mrs. Hershkop, “Base Commander” at Bais Rivkah Crown Heights.
“We are very thankful to Rabbi and Mrs. Weiss for sponsoring the project, and to Kehot and Tzivos Hashem for creating this amazing Haggadah.”
