Close to 3,000 people gathered for Tzivos Hashem of the UK’s Chanukah rally and giant Menorah lighting at Golders Green Station.
The event was a huge success, with the biggest turnout ever for this event, with thousands attending from all walks of Yiddishkeit.
The program started with the reciting of the 12 Pesukim and Maamorei Chazal recited by children from all over the UK, then a rendition of ‘Sheyiboneh’ by the Sufrin twins followed.
A performance followed, with live music played by Rabbi Yisroel Cyprys of Shir Chodosh and guest singer Eli Tamir.
Rabbi Mendel Gordon from the Lubavitch Yeshiva MC’d the evening. Greetings were brought from the local borough Cllr, representing the Mayor of Barnet, Cllr Anthony Finn.
There was a fire and acrobatic show. Clowns, ducks and Dreidels helped add to the festive atmosphere. The Bochurim from Yeshiva Gedolah and Ketana all helped make the event really lively.
Dougnuts, dreidels, chanukah gelt, glow lights and candy were given out to the crowds.
The 30ft Menorah was lit by Mr Isaac Cohen.
The whole program was organized by Rabbi Yossi Simon and of Tzivos Hashem and Dr Bunim Weinbaum. This Menorah has a public lighting every evening of Chanukah. This is one of the 6 big Menorahs put up by Tzivos Hashem.
On the second night of Chanukah, there was a lighting at Alexandra Palace, with the help of the Bochurim of Lubavitch Yeshiva and the Chayolim from Chayolei Tzivos Hashem, it was a tremendous Kiddush Hashem.
