Balaclava or Balaklava?

Balaclava, Vic, is where all the Jews live. Even back in the ’50s there were more shuls than you could poke a stick at. Balaklava, SA, is about 100km north of Adelaide. No visible Jews, and this could well be the blind girl story that it certainly sounds like.

very interesting

I heard these stories from Rabb Chaimi Gutnick himself on different occasions. He told the story of the Jewish girl describingher as “the girl from Balaclava”. The story of the blind girls took place in Adelaide, South Australia. It is a very moving story also worthy of retelling.

I’m pretty sure you’re mixing it up with another story with the blind Egyptian girl from Ballarat with R Chaim Gutnick

INSPIRATIONAL
