Peace in our times?
Rabbi Avrohom Osdoba, Rabbi Yaacov Schwei and Rabbi Yosef Braun, the 3 members of the Crown Heights Beis Din, are jointly signed on a letter for the first time, on the same letterhead.
The letter to the public, dated Friday, 16 Tammuz 5779, calls on members of the community to use the upcoming fast day to increase in learning Torah, reciting Tehillim and giving Tzedaka.
The reason they cite is the new regulations of the New York State Department of Education to limit the Judaic learning hours in Yeshivos and schools.
This joint call signals a move towards reconciliation and cooperation between the Rabbis who until have operated separately – including establishing their own kosher certification.
Their dispute have been argued in court with the latest hearing held this week, according to a source.
COLlive.com has been notified about the move towards peace a few days ago but did not report about it as to not interfere with the positive effort long awaited by many residents.

such good news! I am so happy! I am sure this did not come easy.
Sad it took an event like this bring about unity. A catalyst for unity should come from within and not from without.
funny how someone from without is critical on within…
The best news!!!!
Now Moshiach
Baruch HaShem
This should continue. We are all benefiting from shalom. Kol hakavod to our Rabonim.
BH I am very happy it will be a lot easier to respect a unified Beis Din.
מה טובו אהליך יעקב משכנתיך ישראל
מי כעמך ישראל
Now can we bring back Menachem Gerlitzky to 770? We all miss his chayas…let them all poskin together be need to resume his duties as the # 1 elected gabai
.Yes!.
Now we need a letter from the Rabonim warning the elderly and the weak not to fast Sunday when the temperature is forecast to be dangerously high.
So, now that they’ve been spurred by the risk to education, perhaps they can now collectively work on the nightmare that agunahs in our community are living! They’re united now, so for sure the can help this hellish situation.
I am hoping this wont just be a one time thing!
Now I am more proud to be a member of the CH community. I hope it stays this way!
Mazal Tov!! I’m so happy!! Big thank you to all 3 of my favorite rabbis!!!! Moshiach now!! 🙂
