Hello, racism! Because I actually speak with my educated, financially stable, homeowning black neighbors, I’ve learned all about outsiders coming to the neighborhood to riot… The neighborhood got safer before whites began to colonize. I have zero desire to watch my neighbors of color who rent be rapidly pushed out to make room for gentrifiers. I have zero desire to continue to put things on hold, from dreams to dental treatments, just for the “privilege” of living in a white neighborhood as my landlord makes every possible sociopathic cash grab he can. I’m sick of almost everyone I know being… Read more »
Brings history to life. As I scroll through the pictures I remember all the feelings I went through as a teenager during this terrible time.
But be careful what you say, you may get some people triggered 🙂
Please stay in Boro Park with all your hate, we don’t need you in our area. We like the neighbours we have now so please stay out of it.
Don’t play identity politics shtick, and tell other Jews what they have to or don’t have to believe!!
I support “kahanism” (whatever that is supposed to mean) and I don’t run around telling people like you what you have to believe in!
Why is it the self righteous left cry “tolerance” but then you demand a website take down a picture that happens to have in it something that doesn’t agree with your politics… it’s called severe narcissism!
I saw what a beautiful bochur .
There were nice city of Brooklyn along the side. Good to see the people of connection and happiness from then not continuing now.
The 11th of Elul is Yankel Rosenbaum’s HYD Yartzeit, let’s all learn something, whatever it is wheather Gemara Reshonim, Mefarshim on the Sedra, Chassidus that it should be Leilas Nshmaso being that he doesn’t have children 2 learn 4 him, his parents aren’t alive either, yes he has a bro but still it happened in our neighborhood & every yid throughout the world should learn something today & have in mind Yankel, don’t know his father’s name if anyone does plz share ty may HKBH avenge his blood
i agree with you and could not be happier
The buildings look the SAME!
Why does this always happen to us?
11 photos from the bottom. Taken in front of where the museum now stands! (Ari’s face is partially blocked by someone’s hat) As alive as ever! We miss you, Ari!
The area looked much nicer and the people dressed much better.
P.S You might think I’m an older person making such a comment but I’m eally in my early twenties, I just think that fashion was much better – especially make up wise. Also, men wore manly clothing.
Okay, that’s enough of a rant. My PS is longer than my comment 🙂
the CH riots went from being a vicious pogrom with no intervention by the authorities to 27 years later a fight between 2 sides of equal moral standing the response to which is unity events real justice and retribution never happened as a result of that we continue to be victimized by Black antisemites the time has come to first start presenting the pogrom for what it was and hold our and their leaders accountable and take measures to ensure we have the right tools and training to respond if this ever repeats itself in big or small Moshiach now
I was at the riots along with some activist friends to help the crown heights Jews. Here are the facts. Not one politician stuck their necks out for the Jews in crown heights. Only two did. Senator deamato and dov Hikind. The rest hid under their beds. It was a time when the police stood by in droves at street corners and let the blacks do as they wish. When I arrived the second night I realized the police would let the Jews do the same as the blacks. So we began breaking windows belonging to black owned car services… Read more »
So much has changed. However, the “kahane chai” photos-could those be taken down? We, as jews and humans should not endorse the JDL and kananism.
Fashion changed alot
