The peaceful hallways in Cheder Ohr Menachem boys school in Crown Heights were all abuzz as word got around of an upcoming assembly.
Over the past 3 months, it was a daily delight to stroll the halls during recess and hear the voices of children learning and reviewing mishnayos, prakim and masechtos by heart.
The successful MBP (Mishnayos Baal Peh) program, which uplifted the atmosphere and energized our students in learning was run by Rabbi Zalman Goldstein and Rabbi Yossi Teleshevsky, the school’s Tzivos Hashem Director.
The mivtza was launched at the school assembly in honor of Tu B’Shvat and spanned till Yud Alef Nissan where these young Chassidim gave the Rebbe a unique present of over 22,000 lines of Tanya and Mishnayos.
On Pesach Sheini at a special assembly, awards where given out for the highest achievers. Highlighted were the Chassan and the Sgan of the entire Cheder, as well as the Chassan and the Sgan in each grade.
Cheder Principal Rabbi Menachem Mendel Yusewitz opened the assembly with a Dvar Torah, quoting the Gemara about a “Yoima Tavah LiRabanan,” how a Siyum of a Sugia was celebrated in the times of the Amoraim).
“All the chachomim rejoiced even when only one Chochom finished a Sugia. Same too in our Cheder, like a family we all take pride in our Chaveirim’s success,” Rabbi Yusewitz said.
After giving of Tzedoka he invited Rabbi Goldstein to proceed with honoring the achieving students. One by one the Mitztaynim and Masmidim came up and posed with their certificate. Rabbi Goldstein then called on Rabbi Teleshevsky to honor the high ranking soldier in Tzivos Hashem to receive a splendid picture of the Rebbe on Canvas.
Rabbi Teleshevsky then thanked the dedicated staff: Rabbi Binyomin Gordon, Rabbi Avreml Schtroks, Rabbi Levi Pinson, Rabbi Avrohom Meir Sherr and Rabbi Dovid Liberow who helped tremendously in making the mivtza the success it was by inspiring and testing students.

“How we can respect others and allow them to be heard, even if they think differently than us.”
There are not others and us. There is only we.
we are all different facets of the same diamond.
thank you COL for giving coverage to all facets of the same diamond.
So happy to be a proud parent in Ohr Menachem. What a wonderful nachas for the Rebbe MHM! The pictures are great!
The only goal in Ohr Menachem is to give each and every child a joy and happiness in learning Torah and Mitzvos and in fulfilling whatever the Rebbe asks of us without compromise and to bring Moshiach.
Well put!
How true, I couldn’t have said it better.
Thank you COLLIVE
