This past Sunday almost two hundred Shluchim, Shluchos and Anash and their families from the Greater Boston area and Rhode Island joined together for a Pre Yud Shevat Family Seudah and Farbrengen that was held at the Chabad Center of Sudbury, just outside Boston.
Rabbi Yisroel Deren of Connecticut who came together with his wife Shlucha Vivi Deren, to Farbreng with the assembled, spoke with everyone about preparations for Yud Shevat and enthralled the children and adults with a powerful story and message of how important our job as Chassidim of the Rebbe is.
Meanwhile as the Niggunim and dinner part of the program concluded, Rabbi Yossi Kivman of Mansfield led an amazing game of Kahoot that was enjoyed by all the families and incorporated themes of Yud Shevat and the Rebbe’s Miftzoim.
Afterwards the event split up into smaller separate Farbrengens for men, women and middle school boys. While Rabbi Deren led the Farbrengen for the men, the women enjoyed a special Farbrengen with Shlucha Mrs. Vivi Deren who shared personal stories and real life messages. Meanwhile the middle school boys enjoyed a Farbrengen with Rabbi Backman of Chabad of Tufts University.
Meanwhile the more than 100 children in attendance enjoyed a special rally and many interactive activities based on the message and theme of Yud Shevat. A big thank you to My Shliach of Merkos for providing so much amazing materials for the rally and a big thank you to all of the Shluchos and middle school and older girls who helped run the many activities for the children’s program.
The event was an initiative of Shluchos Shayna Freeman and Tzivi Kivman and a result of a collaborative effort of many hardworking Shluchos and members of Anash who helped prepare an amazing dinner and Farbrengen, created a beautiful ambiance, and worked for many hours setting up and planned through the details of this beautiful event.
The participants all signed their names on a Duch that will be sent to the Rebbe on Yud Shevat and shared the hope that everyone walked out of the Farbrengen inspired and committed to strengthening our individual and communal roles and responsibilities that we were entrusted with by the Rebbe to make sure that once again Ikar Shechina Batachtonim.
