This Chanukah, over 150 members of Anash of Crown Heights and their families went on Chanukah Mivtzoim using the Chanukah Mivtzoim Center, set up by Lubavitch Youth Organization.
They distributed more than 1200 Menorahs, and brought the light of Chanukah with the Rebbe’s message to hundreds more Yidden. (This does not include the many more that made their own Mivtzoim arrangements.)
Many people stopped by the Chanukah Mivtzoim Center to pick up Menorahs, guides, dreidels, etc., and headed out on Mivtzoim, whilst many others called in to the Center and made arrangements to visit nursing homes and hospitals with their children.
One family reported that the people they met were so thankful, saying, “We would not have lit the Menorah if we had not met you.” A family that visited an old age home described how their children spoke and sang songs, bringing the happiness and cheer of Chanukah to over 200 people.
Rabbi Yehuda Levin helped arrange the Mivtzoim visits to homes and apartment buildings in Kensington, and reported that thanks to the many Anash, families, and Bochurim who went on Mivtzoim, every Jewish home in the area was visited this Chanukah.
Special thanks go to Rabbi Menachem Gerlitzky who helped with arranging the visits to the hospitals and old age homes.
Rabbi Kasriel Kastel of Lubavitch Youth says that based on the successful Chanukah Campaign, plans are already being made for a grand Mivtza Purim, with more families going on Mivtzoim to more locations.
that is grate work
The article did not mention Tzali Laufer. It was his number and email address that were the contact information. I called and he was very nice! He gave me Yehuda Levin’s number in Kensington and we went and were so happy we did! We were given two apartment buildings to visit with specific apartments to go to.
Great endeavor!
