Over 11,000 people attended the Exodus Experience in Florida, a Broadway-style production on the story of Passover story.
Directed by Rabbi Shmuly Gutnick of Chabad Youth Network, the event gave thousands the opportunity to walk through a Broadway-style production and relive the exodus from Egypt. The audience was captivated by amazing acting, lighting, sound, and special effects.
As the school buses pulled up to the Exodus building, each student received a wrist band and a costume. After being ‘transported’ through a time machine the audience arrived in Egypt, and witnessed the brutal slavery of the Jewish people. Moses entered with a live sheep at the burning bush, and led the students into Pharoah’s palace. They experienced the ten plagues and the splitting of the sea. They then walked through the hot sandy desert where they lifted their hands up and prayed for food. Miraculously mannah (lollypops) fell from the heavens. Moses led them to Mount Sinai where they heard the Ten Commandments and received the Torah.
Finally, the students proceeded to the Matzah factory where they made their very own Matzah. Students, teachers, and families all left feeling inspired and more connected to Pesach than ever before.
Thanks to Mr. David Slager for making the Exodus a reality.
