At the Yud Alef Nissan rally, which broadcasted live from outside 770 Eastern Parkway to more than 5,000 Chayolim in over 54 schools across the globe, as well as to hundreds of Chayolim who are part of the My Shliach program, something truly unique had occurred.
In honor of the Rebbe’s 109th birthday, a gift was presented to the Rebbe unlike any gift the Chayolim of Tzivos Hashem had ever given before; 109,000 lines of Tanya and 109,000 lines of Mishnayos all learned B’al Peh.
When the moment had arrived, and Commander 6-1-3 had announced the total number of lines learned, a unified round of applause could be heard in several different parts of the world as the Chayolim, for the first time, realized the magnitude of the collective power they possess as the soldiers of Hashem’s Army! Base commanders reported that Chayolim literally did not stop clapping their hands for several long minutes.
“This type of unification cannot be manufactured, the Chayolim have to grow it organically, and on their own. And they do, every day, they really do,” says Rabbi Yerachmiel Benjaminson, director of Tzivos Hashem. “Their dedication to the Rebbe’s cause grows stronger each and every day with every mission accomplished, with every goal reached. They’re working their hardest to bring Moshiach. Nosson would be proud.”
By Nosson, Rabbi Benjaminson is referring to Hatomim Nosson Deitsch OBM whose passing last year was a tremendous loss which, in and of itself, had since sparked other such initiatives across the world by those whose lives Nosson had touched.
This gift to the Rebbe, as well as Chayolei Tzivos Hashem’s entire year round Tanya B’al Peh program is a precious undertaking of Nosson’s entire family. “In Nosson’s honor—well, they’ve just dedicated so much to Tzivos Hashem and we will forever be grateful straight until the coming of Moshiach.”
“Nosson was very passionate about Yiddishkeit, and had placed special emphasis on Tanya B’al Peh. Until his passing year, he learned and continued to review all 53 prokim of Likutei Amorim by heart, and throughout his life inspired others to do the same.”
My Shliach had worked tirelessly with children of shluchim from around the world, and their total numbers really did pierce the sky. “We had over 600 children learning Tanya and Mishnayos b’al peh, and only because of them, did the we achieve the impossible— 218,000 lines—Now that’s what you call a birthday present worthy enough to give our Rebbe!” says Mendy Shanowitz, director of My Shliach.
Tzivos Hashem would like to thank all the base commanders around the world who run the program in the schools and help make the Rebbe’s dream a reality. And of course, a very sincere thank you to Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, Rabbi Benjaminson of Tzivos Hashem and R’ Shaya Smetana of anash.com, and the amazing staff at My Shliach for all they have done to make this program a reality.
