At a moving ceremony in Israel Monday 107 orphans celebrated their Bar Mitzvah together.
The children received aliyahs to the Torah in a ceremony at the Kotel, with their families in attendance, who threw candies at the Bar Mitzvah boys according to custom.
Each of the boys received Tefillin, a Talis, a Siddur, and a Yarmulka.
In attendance were Former Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, Rav Hakotel Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Shliach Rabbi Amram Blau – Educational Director of Colel Chabad, and Rabbis Zalman Duchman, Menachem Mendel Blau, Yosef Yitzchak Chitrik, Shmuel Lipsker and Chaim Gurevitch.
The MC thanked Rabbi Yosef Gutnick of Australia – a key sponsor and supporter of the organization and the annual celebration.
Volunteers who worked towards preparing the children for their bar mitzvah were there to greet the guests and join the celebration.
may all the boys grow up l’chupa umaisim tovim!
i’m happy to see they didn’t really have 107 orphans. Even the 15 in the picture are 15 too many.
You omitted Colel Chabad – the organization that hosted the celebration.
BH the Rebbes work continues, inpsirational. Simchos
Mazel tov! May the organization help them grow in Torah learning and mitzva observance.
