With the help of a story on COLlive about the Beis Medrash of Crown Heights and their need for funding, the learning center will continue through next year.
Through the the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Yerachmeal Jacobson, Mr. and Mrs. Kirschenbaum and the kindness of the Lubavitch community worldwide, the Beis Medrash has collectively raised the funds needed to cover the fixed costs of TBM for the next year and have signed the new lease for its current space at 580 Crown Street, Director Motty Lipskier told COLlive.
In addition, as they begin their third year of operation, they will be expanding their hours to begin at 4 pm (instead of 7 PM) until 11:30 pm every weeknight.
“We invite all Crown Heights residents to join hundreds of bochurim and men already taking advantage of our spacious, comfortable learning space and extensive library,” he said.
But there is still more that needs to be done, Lipskier notes, as they are now focusing their efforts on the budget for shiurim, farbrengens and more.
Responding to many requests to keep TBM’s programs and progress updated for the public, below they’ve detailed two of their most popular programs that need help.
Project one
Back by popular demand, the Fathers’ Back to School Program will iy’H be starting up again after Tishrei. This program offers shiurim for fathers in which choice melamdim from Ohelei Torah and ULY will be teaching the Gemara that the boys will be learning in school. Fathers who attended last year testified that these shiurim prepared them in a way that really allowed them to review the material with their sons and help them keep pace. (Shiurim will begin after Tishrei and continue throughout the year. Stay tuned for details.)
An assortment of highly talented teachers such as Rabbi Geisinsky, Rabbi Karp, and Rabbi Zwiebel will be giving the shiurim.
The cost to run each shiur is $6,000.
Project two
The ever- growing, highly successful Beis Medrash Women’s Circle runs a weekly shiur called “Caffeine for the Soul” where mothers learn a shiur chassidus and discuss relevant topics while the babies play. Many women who attend regularly have said that this shiur gives their entire week a chassidishe boost and has significantly changed the atmosphere in their home for the better.
The cost to run each shiur is $125.
Your help is pivotal to the success of these projects. By attending and/or by helping to fund either of the above projects you can make this happen. Please contact TBM to make your pledge or for more details.
