Dozens of headstones at a Jewish cemetery in the Wissinoming section of Philadelphia have been broken and overturned.
The Philadelphia police say this was an act of vandalism at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery on the corner of Frankford and Cheltenham avenues.
Aaron Mallin of North Jersey made the disturbing discovery Sunday when he came to visit his father’s grave.
“It’s just very disheartening that such a thing would take place,” Mallin said.
He says he knows this doesn’t look good, but is hoping that somehow this wasn’t an anti-Semitic attack.
“I’m hoping it was maybe just some drunk kids. But the fact that there’s so many, it leads one to think it could have been targeted,” Mallin said.
The damage is widespread all across the cemetery with dozens, perhaps hundreds, of headstones affected.
Mallin just doesn’t understand how someone could do this.
“It’s just very heartbreaking,” Mallin said.

#2 you are saying very good question every Cemetery and including Ohel should put up security cameras by the way I noticed that the Ohel has a security camera around the building and the tent as well what I’m trying to say is they need to put security cameras on all the cemeteries putting a security camera in the office is not enough they need to spread around the cemetery that’s what I tried to say
It’s horrible to see these acts of Anti semetic acts of vandalism especially when just a short while back the same thing occurred in S. Louis, Mo. but I see a glint of light here..

How do you know the message is to bury and not to cremate. Perhaps this is a message that Jews should be thinking about cremation instead of burial. My point is oubvioualy to point out that you can’t decide when god is hinting something. It’s just you.
Something tells me G-d is hinting that Jews should stop cremating. But maybe that’s my imagination. In any case, all rabbis and others should be teaching about the importance of burial. Relatives ought to talk about it with their families…before it’s too late. Go to http://www.peacefulreturn.org
How do they not have any cameras or security guards or any evidence at all of who did this? Especially after the recent happenings! This is a huge attack that probably took many people.
Anti semitism? No cant be, that doesnt exist anymore…OPEN YOUR EYES YIDDEN! How many events do you need in order to admit this is anti semitism and that we should be very vigilant of what is happening!?
