1 + 1 = 2. They probably forgot his New Year’s tip.

I’m NOT justifying this behavior! But yes, a little $20 tip goes a long way… Dont forget your USPS, UPS, FedEx drivers, garbagemen and building supers.

YOU are the problem

If you think you’d receive gifts for such behavior don’t hold your breath. In kindergarten most people learn that violence and damage do not produce gifts. So far from deserving gifts they deserve a pink slip and charges placed against them.

You don’t give up a Jackson at X-MAS, then you will get sub-par performance.

Surprise!

Another white supremacist on the job.

You know hard and dangerous it is for the postal / ups/ FedEx workers who deliver packages. When people dont shovel their stairs and sidewalks properly! Or sprinkle ice so they dont slip.
No wonder they deliver packages like this. Be a mensch and shovel your sidewalks and stairs.

Also your mailman/lady

I always try to give it during Chanukah so it is clear what holiday it is for

They are always very appreciative & definitely will repay you with extra help
And if you missed this year, I guarantee they won’t turn you down if you give it now 🙂

I saw the same thing by UPS

wow!
January 19, 2020 6:59 pm

not nice!

Yes!!
January 19, 2020 7:07 pm

I saw a delivery thrown in the floor and then kicked. I didn’t say anything because he looked like a wild animal. It’s not only laziness it’s the low quality and derangement of some of the people they hire- particularly the ones who deliver here. Don’t remember if it was ups or usps but at least w ups you can more easily make a claim for damaged goods.

really now...
January 19, 2020 7:17 pm

why in the world do we need to bribe them in order for them to do their job right? they chose to be a USPS delivery guy, so they can just be a mentsch and do their job right. A person taking this job should know what he has to do, it will be harder in the winter, but that’s no excuse to behave like that. if you can’t do your job properly, don’t do it at all. Find something else. It’s nice to give them gifts in holiday season, but not giving shouldn’t lead to them not doing their… Read more »

Well just ask your self this and just for the record I dont think this is right by any means! I work for the post office and I have just this year alone work 80 plus hours a weeks and I dont get that choice. I even now as thing slow down work 7 days a week and still 10 to 8 hours a day. So just thing it’s your 14th straight day at 12 plus hours a day and just thing of your state of mind!

Do your job correctly

I work for the Postal service and UPS together. I work in the distribution centers. I work more than 80 hours a week, but I STILL treat every package like it’s mine. I have integrity.

No Excuse

That’s no excuse. There are a lot of people who work overtime and don’t act like this. This person should be ashamed of themselves for acting like this. They get pretty good pay. If they can’t handle it they need to find a different job.

Not about gifts

I work for the post office and yes that’s not right at all.. this man have a job to do …. shovel the steps or in front your place . The package could be huge or small and guess what this guy break a leg or fall bc no salt or nothing. Tbh his life is more important than a package so I could see why someone would do that even though it’s not right … He’s probably just tired of going through the same garbage every snow season…. I nearly slipped because the ice on the steps that weren’t… Read more »

USPS is a mail delivery service. A letter and magazine service. The parcel volume has skyrocketed the past few years, yet carriers get no extra compensation for delivering 500 parcels a day. Terrible service but frustrations happen.
Doubt if 5% of those complaining would last three weeks on the job. Try it….we’re hiring

Look at the snow
January 19, 2020 8:10 pm

I don’t blame him. Owner should have shoveled their sidewalk and stairs.

Lol

There’s like half an inch of snow!!!!

Not damaged
January 19, 2020 9:31 pm

The type of packing used in both packages indicates it wasnt merchandise that cant easily be damaged. There is no padding or protection for those pacakes. They were not damaged.
He knew this plus the area not being shoveled is why he threw instead of walked.
The 1st package was either a clothes like a shirt or a book magaine.
The 2nd package is a little harder to tell unless you were holding it. But no protection equals a non fragile item.
He really shouldnt of thrown it but dont like and say a tshirt was damaged.

Exactly. It gets thrown 3 times that far when sorted at the office. That is just the process.

Not an excuse but...
January 19, 2020 9:36 pm

…USPS is tired. Sick and tired of delivering all the garbage people are too lazy to go get at a store.

USPS need to increase manpower
January 19, 2020 9:54 pm

It’s a hard job( not saying he was right) but very overwhelming to drive and deliver by one person in such a weather. At least need to be two workers there….

It was Shabbos

I live on the second floor and have a porch, one day I heard a thump I saw my package if I remember correctly it was UPS got thrown onto my porch…it was clothing so nothing was damaged. I thought it was funny. People are saying why didn’t people shovel? Look at the time!! The snow had just started it came on fast! I just want to say I have seen packages being delivered in torrential downpour And all kinds of crazy weather, not only that the delivery trucks don’t have AC in the summer not sure about heat in… Read more »

No AC. Heaters don’t work well either. Barely blow hot air.

Not the USPS' fault!!!
January 20, 2020 9:10 am

Clerk for USPS here:

this is how ALL parcels are handled at the mail plants and local offices. There’s way too many to give each one baby attention. If they were damaged then it probably from before this mailman got to it, and because shippers don’t protect their items their shipping adequately!

Exactly. Many shoppers, even amazon, put one strip of tape and that’s not enough. Amazon also says deliver even if it gets rained on at the porch. They will replace it.

Tax dollars hard at work, learning the shot put !!
January 20, 2020 9:55 am

If they can’t make the extra effort to secure the package, fire them. I hate receiving even the slightest messed up packages..

Facts would help

USPS doesn’t receive tax dollars for their operations. Thought you’d wanna know….

Would not have delivered
January 20, 2020 6:37 pm

Would have scanned it no access and brought it right back to the office if they didn’t bother to salt or clear the snow off their status or sidewalk. If they don’t care about your safety and other people’s safety then they don’t care about getting packages on time.
