Tonight at about 8:35 p.m on Eastern Parkway and Rogers Avenue in Crown Heights, I witnessed what appeared to be three Jewish women running away from an African American male.
The women were shouting…
I was driving on the parkway, and I tried to stop, but the traffic would not allow me to.
I right away called 911.
However, 911 called me back asking if I knew where the women were, because the police could not find them.
I am concerned about how these women are doing, and if they actually got attacked.
I feel like i didn’t intervene enough.
I would appreciate if you can post this to find out the well being of these three women.

every store in crown hights should carry pepper spray and no one should leave home with out it and people should take target practice with it and at any doubt especialy women should not hesitate to use it since it has no lasting effects on the other hand hesitating to use it can have a life time effect
heres an idea: why dont we have shomrim/shmira patrol ep from 8 to 10 at night. from kingston to flatbush ave. I would be willing to pay a monthly fee to have this patrol. its like a mini gym membership, and you have yourself a nice, safe parkway to walk on. I think it’ll become known to the perps that its patroled and they should stay away, cuz its womens walking hr. e/o should pay bc excercize outdoors is sooo important.

As a resident of NYC I should be wellcome in any place, So if one shvartze idiot wants to attack some ladies he should be the one thats punished not the law abiding people who are out for some exersize after a days hard work
Yes- I agree that we SHOULD not have problems from anyone when walking down the street. But the reality is in a big city ALL WOMEN are in increased danger once the sun goes down. I see many people who are not excercising basic safety precautions. In some cases it might be better to call a car service to get where you need to go rather than risking problems- this aint Kansas Dorothy!

I appreciate your sense of humor, and I’m female (GASP!) I don’t go close to the kitchen on Thursday. I don’t make shabbos, and I don’t make dinner on Thursday night either, my husband does. I understand that this makes us a non frum couple 😉

i belive this is a isolated insident but at the same time it is crazy for a girl to walk around at night with no form of pertection…mace or a tasor would stop most attacks and give plenty of time for the victims to run. there r a lot of predetors out there and its as easy as mace or tasor to make them think twice before they try again.
Where I come from in Indiana we all carry concealed weapons and are trained to use them. Its not nearly as dangerous here as it is in NY but any time any place someone could C”V become a victim so with protection and a little sachel you should feel comfortable walking around where you live…at any hour.

Don’t forget how many of our young men have suffered attacks on the streets at night in the last year or two. Clearly, it is not safe for anyone!!! Travel in groups after dark, or get more involved with city council and efforts to reduce crime. There is no reason for women to be caged up and yes, of course every person should have the right to walk around safely. At the same time, you won’t find me walking around in Prospect Park at night to excersize my rights to safety. Certainly people should work on ways to make CH safer, but in the meanwhile consider the reality of the current situation when making plans. I always see high school girls walking down Epkway at 10 11 at night! It is poshut a sakanah for these young girls to walk soo late! NO IT IS NOT SAFE! If u want to do excercise plse do it earlier in the day and dont put your life in danger!

I think the lesson is that women shouldn’t be out in the street at night especially where they were – not in the center of CH.
Just for everyones info crown heights shmira was the one that caught these perps they followed them and got the police to arrest them

the women are fine, the african american male was apprehended on president and brooklyn where he was later id’d by the women

at 8:50 I saw tons of police activity on president street, they were arresting 2 black teenagers, one on President and Brooklyn, and one on New York Ave.
I assume it may be the same insident but not sure.
