April 11, 2010 3:12 pm

a bit too fast and the introduction a bit too long, morenigun and less talking. other wise nice.

Prety good
April 11, 2010 2:00 pm

But he talkes for 3 minutes sings for 45 seconds.

Great stuff
April 10, 2010 5:26 pm

I really like the talking. Keep it just as it is. Longer songs would be great.

Don’t be afraid of singing it twice though.

Thanks

thank you mendel
April 10, 2010 4:34 pm

if i remember right cd from the chosid himself has music and this is sfira special. beside he gives where to buy cd if you want to hear from chosid himslef and maybe avraham fried should also make album of nichoach instead of singing himself too? i dont think 1 takes away from teh other

Thanks everyone for your critique, it is greatly appreciated and I will try to incorporate as much of the feedback as I can into the upcoming Chavlogs (to be IY”H released weekly during sefiroh and more spread out thereafter). To number 25, enjoyed your comment but I want to suggest biderech efshar that maybe its not sounding like a Voloch was partially due to the improper speed I sang it whereas R’ SB’s slower hartzig rendition leans more towards the ga’aguim side of the nigunishe spectrum. To Choni and YF – thanks for making my Pesach so memorable – Namaste… Read more »

Volach
April 8, 2010 5:51 pm

From Valachai (Wallachia) an area near Romania.
Their style music was very longing, which is why niggunim of great ga’auim – longing is called a volach.
(The volach’s from nikolayev have “the style” Rabbi Markel speaks about, which many other Nikolayver niggunim have, but is not necessarily what makes it a volach.
Bichlal its intersting that he and others call this one a volach. maybe its more a fonke)

Hey Mendel, That was great! It’s so funny to see that you have a whole bus-load of backseat drivers telling you how to do it. If only they knew that you have all these ideas that we spoke about on YT. But hey, you also have a busy life with things to do and you take a few moments to kindly share some Niggunim with people who can not only enjoy listening to nice Neggunim but can also enjoy commenting on them while displaying their critiquing talents. I was also happy to see that you shared a little bit of… Read more »

April 8, 2010 2:34 pm

next time please don’t do it in a empty room where you have the echo and add some better lighting.

I like the swiveling. it gives him that “Groner personality” if you know what i mean.
Bottom line keep the swivel chair.

Appreciative
April 8, 2010 1:54 pm

I have been looking for recordings of the more complicated niggunim. Thanks.

thank you!

WOW!
April 8, 2010 10:13 am

AMAZING!

wondering
April 8, 2010 10:10 am

why didn’t he just play R’Alhaus so we can all hear straight from the chossids mouth?

A few important points
April 8, 2010 9:51 am

1) Very nice choice, varem, and pleasent voice. 2) PLEASE slow down the niggun. Especially after hearing RSHB”TZ sing it. This sounded like you were running away. 3) Get straight to the Sining with less talking (you spoke for 75% of the video 🙂 I would suggest WRITING DOWN a VERY SHOrt intro and then saying it as you wrote it. This will avoid the corrections 4)For Goodness sake, stop MOVING. It is very annoying to watch when you are swiveling from side to side. TIP: Dont sit on a Swivel Chair. To Recap: Slow Down, Right Down your message… Read more »

constructive criticism
April 8, 2010 9:30 am

Sang a little fast and with that voice I would have liked to see more singing and less talking. Brilliant concept though and the perfect person to do it. A little slower and more hartzig next time like we’ve seen him do in the past, but I love this and hope there are more to come. I really would love to see where this goes and I think they should have him do a couple performances on the next Rak Chabad concert because Mendel is the true Rak Chabad in my book! Yasher Koiach!

thank you!
April 8, 2010 9:26 am

this is a beatiful idea – what chabad websites should be for!

Great
April 8, 2010 9:11 am

love it! Mendel, yasher koach and to number 3, what does te chair he is sitting in have to do with the content of his video? Is there anyone left that isn’t so uptight?

Mendel, I wouldnt care if you were doing it in a beanbag, great idea, great concept.
