Pesha Leah Azoulay, a 20 year-old Lubavitch woman from Crown Heights, was killed in a car accident Wednesday, 20 Teves 5770.
She was traveling back to New York with the Liberow family from her friend’s wedding in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Born in Oak Park, Michigan, to the Roetter family, Pesha Leah was known for her kind smile, practical advice and enthusiasm.
“Although you are getting paid, Shlichus is more than just a job, Shlichus means a mission,” she once wrote to fellow girls.
“We have a goal to accomplish, and it isn’t how much money we can make. Our goal is to prepare the world for Moshiach by spreading the wellsprings of Torah and Chassidus.”
Among her tasks in life was working as a preschool and Hebrew School teacher for Chabad of Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
On March 20, 2008, she visited the Ohel of the Lubavitcher Rebbe and announced her engagement to Mendy Azoulay, a Lubavitch bochur from Paris, France.
They soon married at a ceremony at Lubavitch Headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn.
A poem she wrote for TheJewishWomen.org titled “Procrastination,” ended with the words: “Can you relate? Can I change my fate?”
Wednesday’s fatal multi-vehicle-crash occurred in Western Pennsylvania, on Interstate 80 (MM 32), shortly before 10:00PM, Yeshiva World News reported.
Ohio Shliach Rabbi Mendel Sasonkin and organizations Chesed Shel Emes and Misaskim worked tirelessly until 3:00AM with the Pennsylvania State Police to have her and another passenger Avrohom Dovid Liberow OBM released as soon as possible.
The funeral will take place in New York on Friday morning, leaving from Shomrei Hadas at 10:00 am and passing by 770 at 10:30 am.
The families need help with funeral costs and travel. To help please call Rabbi Lipa Brennan at 718-438-2727.

Boruch dayan Haemes to both the Roetter and Azoulay family.
I just listened to a classby Rabbi Y. Jacobson on theyeshivah.net website on Parshas Shemos 5770. It was such chizuk after hearing somay tragedies. I advise everyone tolisten to it in this time of sorrow for Klal Isroel. The point was that we cannot understand the ways ofHashem and are notaloudtoeven pretend wedochas v’sholom. We have to praye and besseache Hashem to show us His Midass Harochomim.
May we all be able to open our eyes and great Moshiach NOW!
may she beg for the coming of the geula
A Poem by Pesha Leah A”H: the way one looks – Three meanings I have found to this seemingly simple phrase, Which is really not so simple and can be translated in many ways. – the way one looks – The very surface appearance, just skin deep, doesn’t go very far, It’s okay to appear different, as long as you are proud of who you are. – the way one looks – The main thing is not how well or what one physically can see, Some with less sight, have a vision that guides them with clarity. – the way… Read more »

Baru’ch Dayan a hemet …
Rav Mendy Azoulay is our Rav in Brussels – Belgium especially for the Month of Tishri. He even came again this year to help us out with Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur but Pesha Leah couldn’t make it this time even if she did it the year before just after their wedding.
Mendy is also A FRIEND and I had the chance to meet his wife .. I am wordless.
The Shoul of “Rogier – Brussels (Belgium)” join the whole Family in their pain.
May Hachem protect them.

I heard in the name of Harav Greenglass in Montreal he should be well.
He said I don’t won’t to go to the next world SO I DONT ASK QUESTIONS!
And explained that the only answers come after 120 so don’t ask. But I would say that just ask hashem for help.
it’s so strange , Mrs. Lapine had the same name :Pesha leah
‘I AM NOT MESHICHIST, NOT EVEN CHABAD, BUT THE REBBE zt”l SAID…..’
how culd u even say this?! the rebbe lives on, and ur theory of ‘WE NEED A PUSH, A ‘GENTLE’ REMINDER….’ is completely opposed to what the rebbe says! as lubavitchers, we know mshiach is HERE!
MOSHIACH NOW! LONG LIVE THE REBBE!
ALL THIS: WHY? HOW COULD IT BE?
ARENT U ALL SUPPOSED 2 B LUBAVITCH?
I AM NOT MESHICHIST, NOT EVEN CHABAD, BUT THE REBBE zt”l SAID MOSHIACH IS ON ITS WAY! WE JUST NEED TO REVEAL HIM ! AND IF WE ARENT DOING OUR JOB TO REVEAL HIM, WE NEED A PUSH, A ‘GENTLE’ REMINDER. HASHEM TAKES THE PEARLS AS A KAPORAH….
MAY THIS BE A KAPPORAH FOR ALL OF KLAL YISROEL, AND WE MERIT TO SEE THE END OF THIS GALUS!
AMEN
…so many trageties…..MOSHIACH NOW!
Hashem, Have mercy on your children!!!

I was on a shabbaton in bournemouth when she was in seminary there. She was such a great Leader!
Pesha Leah I will never forget you!!
I can’t read the article . . . crying.
Too horrible! HaShem takes the ‘tzadikim’ as
a ‘kapora.’
Let’s make ‘farbrengens’ stressing ‘Ahavat Yisroel.’
WE NEED MORE ‘AHAVAT YISROEL’ in Crown Heights!
I just went and read some of the things on her blog….why is it that people aren’t recognized until they pass away? She has some amazing things on there!!!! Go read!!!
For the short time that I knew her, she always exuded happiness, caring, kindness and a genuine interest in Torah and Chassidus. Baruch Dayan Emes.
This woman seemed very gentle and kind. We should take her light and continue to shine it, with honor and respect. May her husband, family and friends find the necessary strength to continue on the path of service to Hashem

The sky is dark The clouds are thick Everything is cold. The ice is dangerous This winter night Hope seems lost Warmth is just a dream A faint, whispering memory Where is the light? I can not see. I’m falling, tripping over the ice. Screaming in pain. I hate this cold. I hate this dark. I wish it could end, But that seems impossible. There is no end in sight. In fact, there is nothing at all in sight. And when all hope seems gone When all my dreams seem shattered, A tiny ray Breaks through the clouds. A burst… Read more »
How Could it Happen ——————- You ask me, “Why did G-d allow it to happen?” You recognize that everything in this world has purpose and meaning. Examine any aspect of His vast Creation, from the cosmos to the workings of the atom and you will see there must be a plan. And so you ask, where does this fit into the plan? How could it? I can only answer, painfully, G-d alone knows. But what I cannot know, I need not know. I need not know in order to fulfill that which my Creator has created me to do. And… Read more »

to link,,,i check out the link on what she wrote about the holtzberg’s and there she quoted this: On Wednesday, we had finalized the details.
“I just was working with the companies,
Waiting for confirmations regarding transport.
On Wednesday night, my husband delicately mentions,
“Were you planning a trip to India?
I don’t think that is a very good idea,
There are terrorist attacks.”
we need moshiach right now!!!!!!

Isn’t Your cup full? How many more tears must we shed? Isn’t it hard enough? Isn’t it time for this darkness to end? You watch our struggles, I know that You feel all of our pain. But we still move on, Asking, are the losses worth the gain? Well, isn’t Your cup full? How many more tears do we need to cry? Every test hurts, And we ask You, please tell us, WHY? Is there a reason? Oh, when will You reveal Your plan? It hurts so much, Yet deep down, I know You understand. But, isn’t Your cup full?… Read more »
