Chief Rabbi of Israel Yona Metzger was honored with the lighting of the public Menorah at the Mamila Mall in Jerusalem, on the 5th night of Chanukah.
Metzger was accompanied in the lighting with the supporter of Jewish organizations in Israel, Guma Aguiar, who also goes by Yehuda David Aguiar.
Rabbi Naftali Rot, director of Tzeiri Chabad in Jerusalem, was the Master of Ceremonies and was privileged to introduce Rabbi Metzger. Rabbi Metzger spoke about ideas relevant to a phrase used by the Rambam that the Menorah lighting is a “precious mitzvah” and that the presence of Chabad arouned the world, bringing the love of the Mitzvah to the masses, causes them in turn to become “precious” themselves.
Guma is the King!
