A Chabad Lubavitch Shliach in Worcester, Massachusetts, was horrfied to find that his car Menorah was vandalized.
Waking up Sunday morning for a full day of Chanukah activities, Rabbi Yossi Prus found the window of his car shattered.
“It seems like someone tried to steal our Menorah but didn’t succeed, so they hit the car instead,” Israeli-born Prus told COLlive.com.
A complaint has been filed with the Greater Worcester Police Department.
Prus said they are treating the case as a possible anti-Semitic incident.
Directors at Chabad Lubavitch of Worcester on Newton Avenue, headed by Rabbi Hershel Fogelman, said they won’t be deterred.
“We will keep spreading the Chanukah light of goodness and kindness to all,” they said.
there were 5 cars parked around this car…. only this car was smashed!!!!
have to do with the Menorah? Why is this not just a ‘simple’ act of vandalism?
we continue to light our candle…. we illuminate, not continue evil. fight EVIL with GOODNESS

how many terrible things can happen on channuka???
Looks like a golf stick was used.
Well, yes. With your obvious Lubavutch appearance, you are apt to get stared at anywhere. Especially outside of the Jewish neighborhoods. I don’t know where in MA you come from, but I can personally attest that the Worcester kehilla is the nicest and most personal ever.
I moved to Mass. over a year ago. The people who I’ve met that also moved to Mass. from somewhere else almost always have voluntarily (I did not ask or bring it up) expressed how unfriendly and closed the “native” people are here. This is coming from people, some of whom have moved here up to 20 years ago. Unfortunately, from my experience, I have to agree. Further, outside of the Jewish neighborhoods, it’s the only place I’ve lived where I get stared at.
i wish there was snow in ch too!!!
What’s going on this Chanukah?!
