Rabbi Mendel and Nechama Danow (nee Hertzel) will be moving on Shlichus to Pensacola, Florida.
Appointed by Rabbi Avrohom Korf, the Rebbe’s head Shliach to Florida, the Danows are being brought down to the Florida Panhandle by Shluchim Rabbi Schneur Zalman and Chanie Oirechman.
The Danows will be establishing a Chabad house in Pensacola, to serve the Jewish population in the area and its surrounding towns. They will be joining Rabbi Yeshaya and Rochel Tenenboim in the Emerald coast strip along the gulf of Mexico.
It is estimated that there are approximately one thousand Jews living there, and there is currently no Orthodox Jewish community infrastructure in the area.
Pensacola is home to two universities where Jewish students attend. Rabbi and Mrs. Danow will also be catering to their needs.
Located at the border of Alabama, Pensacola is in the northwest area of Florida.
It was founded in 1559, making it the oldest city in the United States. Established by Spanish settlers, it is estimated that among them were also Jews.

S. Augustine is the oldest _continuously inhabited_ city in the USA. Pensacola was founded a few years earlier, but then abandoned and only later resettled.
A truly wonderful couple.
Wishing them every success.
