I’m a bal teshuva and I was really impressed with the way rabbi Lipskier presented the concept of knowing what to expect from who in the class on chapter 3. I loved his example with the birthday bags, so wise.

I’m a baalas teshuva and I share your sentiments. I actually watched the class on chapter 5 and gained a lot. Unlike many others, he clarifies how to understand what’s right for each of us personally. Thanks for posting

The mom who keeps her husband home
May 25, 2018 2:10 pm

I am the mom that keeps my husband home. He barely makes it for minyan in the morning and never goes at night, why? Because we are both gerim and we have no family support and if I have to take care of the whole house all day long by myself and then all evening long while he gets to go daven, or go to a shiur, guess what happens to women when their entire life revolves around giving to their husbands? They go crazy! I’m not quite sure what I think of this series. Again like many things it’s… Read more »

Clearly, you commented without actually watching the class. His example was a story from a small town, NOT ch with hundreds of minyanim, and he explained how not every situation is the same. You’d gain a lot by listening.

great chinuch piece

Parents maariv and bed tiem.
May 24, 2018 9:32 pm

With all the respect, maariv, is a horrible example for a father should definitely be home for bed time. Period. There are many minyonim here in crown heights and one can find a minyan maariv easily up untill 1 am in 770. Ur average shul has a minyan maariv at 9.00 or 9.30 daily including winter. So there no excuse for a father to use shul as his escape. Regarding shachris, i would love to say the same. I see many fathers who manage to attend a daily 8.00 am minyan, and managing to return home closer to 9.00 when… Read more »

Real Jewish parenting
May 24, 2018 3:38 pm

I’m happy to see that someone is teaching authentic Jewish parenting methods.

I’ve been following parenting trends in the Jewish community and I see how we are sadly infiltrated with lots of bad, secular parenting ideas. Unfortunately, some people in our community actually promote those philosophies without realizing that they run against some basic values of yiddishkeit, and how much more so of Chassidus.

I hope that this is the sign of a new trend towards returning to our roots and uncovering the chinuch that suits us.

Masterpiece!

Rabbi Lipskier at his best!

Keep it up! Maybe you can start something weekly…

Highly recommended!

I watched the classes and they are on the mark! Such normal, down-to-earth, Torah parenting! A breath of fresh air in this world of warped values.

Thank you Rabbi Lipskier, Gidulim and COL!!
