Dinah Abrahamson was one of 12 women honored Wednesday in a video tribute compiled by the Republican National Committee (RNC) in honor of Women’s Equality Day.
The RNC Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement and video today: “Today we pause to honor Women’s Equality Day and acknowledge the many contributions that women have selflessly given to America.
“From Susan B. Anthony, who in 1872 led a delegation of women to the Republican convention in Philadelphia to lobby on behalf of Women’s suffrage, to Jeannette Rankin, a Republican, who became the first woman to serve in the U.S. Congress in 1917, to Dr. Condoleezza Rice, the first woman to serve as National Security Advisor to the President of the United States, women have played an active role in shaping our society since the beginning.”
Dinah, who is honored for her work as a long-time Nebraska GOP activist and national delegate, now lives in Crown Heights with her teenaged daughter and son, Yosef, who is a two-time winner of the NYPD’s “Commissioner for a Day” essay contest.
