A photo being shared on social media is showing a bearded frum Jew and the pilot of an airline bonding over a daf of Gamara in a cockpit.
The teacher was identified as Rabbi Michel Chill of Monsey and it was said that the photo was taken this past Monday when he was traveling to Los Angeles in the midst of Chol Hamoed Pesach.
He was on his way with family members to the Pidyon Haben ceremony for his grandson, but the snowstorm on the east coast delayed the flight for 3 hours.
According to a report, the pilot offered the rabbi a bottle of water with a Kosher L’Pesach symbol. Soon, the pilot invited him to the cockpit to learn Gemara together.
The result of a meeting of souls.
I am part of Lubavitch Anash in Money. I know Rabbi Michel Chill for many years, I worked for him and with him. I have only great things to say about him. He is a big Ask an in the community, very friendly and generally a good person
They were learning Masechta Horios, which is the current masechta in Daf Yomi (started on 17 Nissan).
Take inspiration from it and increase in your learning! There are in fact a few Daf Yomi shiurim around Crown Heights, plus dozens of shiurim on many other Torah topics; make a commitment to join one!
What are they learning?!
This is beautiful on many levels!
How Beautiful!!
Mi keamcha yisrael!
