There is ONLY black and white in Yiddishkeit!
No gray!
Kedusha or Tumah, Mitzva or aveira , Tov or Rah. NOTHING IN THE MIDDLE.

Sorry folks. It’s the truth.

The Winner is....

Music is just an expression of what’s going on inside. Yes not always is the inner energy and excitement coming directly from raw holy things the way they are presented in their purest form. That’s because we don’t always look at ourselves in our purest form. But at the same time we must serve hashem with happiness and excitement in the level with which we express ourselves. So should have you clicked on this video even though you new you aren’t going to be getting anything spiritual out of this? Well definitely not if you are in the middle of… Read more »

But Why?

#13 and all other friends. I’ll try to clarify my thoughts in a few sentences. I also want to live todays times. I also like good and nice things. But it’s the Torah that doesn’t want us to be like Goyim. We are Torah yidden and Chassidim to top it off. I will eat that fatty meat but I will NOT buy Facon because that’s made for people that want to eat bacon. Why do we have to call it Facon? (Sorry it doesn’t’t sit right with me) Let me share with you my mother’s words on this issue. “When… Read more »

You’re getting more comments than the actual post. When someone does something it can be coming from or influenced by their nature or nurture. If someone who does not present themselves as jewish does something, does that make it non-Jewish? If someone who presents himself as jewish does something, does that make it jewish? Reread what you wrote. We eat because humans eat and we’re human. We explore tastes. And if there’s something kosher that tastes like bacon, why not try it? ETC. You’re being human, not non-Jewish, or jewish. As a jew, and perhaps chabadster, you can infuse your… Read more »

What do you mean like the goyim? Are you saying that it needs to sound like Russian pheasants music circa 1800 to be a Jewish song? Or maybe, if you’re sephardi it needs to sound like Turkish music to be Jewish? Fact is what you call Jewish music and lots of Nigunim sound similar to the music of their time.

PS I see many other singers there than the ones named above

#2 Not everything needs to be black and white. If we can take some music styles and remake them in a kosher setting, I believe that’s amazing. Or you can make only one style of music and alienate our youth who are clearly looking around. It’s not a compromise nor is it an affront to classic Jewish music. It’s simply another flavor.

What on earth are you reffering to? Energetic JEWISH music is also not ok? These were Jewish tunes!

Best singer!

Can you explain to me what jewish music is? Because no matter what genre of jewish music you can say it had influence from the “goyish” world around it. Yes, even nigunim that we love to sing from Russia are very similar or exactly the same as some russian, peasant, goyish, tunes. Many niggunim are similar to that of goyish classical music, the sefardi music and classical wedding songs are influenced my turkish and morrocan goyish tunes. SO WHAT. THEY ARE SINGING PRAISE TO THE AIBESHTER IN A BEAUTIFUL WAY THAT IS ENTERTAINING AND KOSHER. WHY DO WE NEED TO… Read more »

Music has always been influenced by the region, think of a gerrer march, vizhnitser waltz and chabad nigunnim sounding like Russian folk music.
Besides, listen to some 80’s funk, sounds totally different anyway.

Loved the energy.

But Why?
March 19, 2018 8:43 am

It’s an amazing production. Really well done. BUT WHY? Why do we need to do evrything that the goyim do? Where will we stop? There’s facon, Shaitel that look better than own hair, Seudas Achashveirosh with a Hechsher….. and the list goes on and on. Oh Pesach is coming… Pizza-bagels-more junk food than all year. I know all the responses that I will get for this terrible comment. Please answer me one thing. BUT WHY? Why do we need to look like goyim, act like goyim, sing like goyim and eat like goyim? Do you think that the kids need… Read more »
