Bais Rivka High School in Crown Heights recently organized an evening for mothers focused on giving them the tools to achieve their objective.
Renowned lecturer Rabbi Shais Taub spoke about using the energy that teenagers have and challenging them with positive outlets.
He highlighted the importance of recognizing that teenagers enjoy doing things with passion and excitement and that it’s up to the school and their parents to provide opportunities to engage in positive activities.
Dr. Shoshana Friedman discussed the emotional impact that technology has specifically in the vulnerable years of adolescence. She suggested tools parents may use to provide their daughters with necessary skills for positive use of technology.
Alex Brand LCSW focused on how to encourage positive behaviors in teenagers, and how to avoid negative behavior, including undesirable addictions. He explained how parents can keep their eyes open and be aware of developments in their teenagers’ behavior, and stressed the importance of having open communication.
The parents were very grateful for this important and informative evening and asked for additional programs to provide practical tools for the chinuch of their children.
“Thank you so much for putting this evening together and an even bigger thank you to accommodating the out of town parents and including us,” one parent wrote after the evening. “It personally saved me close to 2 hours commute.”

Thank you very much Rabbi Taub and the organizers of this event! Be’ezras Hashem will harness my youthism and the youthism of youth.
I suggest someone designs subjects for teenage bochurim to develop on tecnology, there are still things in Tora and chasidus that could be developed.
Sounds like a very useful event. Could you please post the details and suggested tools each speaker proposed for all those who couldnt attend.
