Bais Chana High School for Girls in Orange, CT recently held its sixth annual mother/daughter evening in honor of 22 Shevat; and what an incredible, uplifting evening it was!
From the invitations to the beautiful decorations, students worked with madricha, Shterny Levitin, to pull together an event that was elegant, warm and inviting, in typical Bais Chana fashion. Parents and students were treated to a delicious dinner, enjoyed a fun game reviewing important facts and dates about the Rebbe and Rebbetzin, and had the opportunity to create their own combination of aromatic spices.
The highlight and most inspirational part of the evening was the students’ presentations on the theme “ROOTS”. Under the guidance of staff members, Mrs. Devorah Leah Posner, Mrs. Shayna Eichenblatt, Miss Shterny Fogelman and Rabbi Levi Schectman, students researched and made creative projects about the Rebbeim, the goals and accomplishments of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin, different Niggunim, as well as the mesiras nefesh of chassidim through challenging time periods in our history.
According to senior, Gitty Vogel, “This is my fourth year working on the ROOTS project. Every year we focus on a different aspect of our chassidishe roots. By working on these presentations, we gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for our Rebbeim, which inspires us in our daily life.”
The mother/daughter evening was a proud night for Bais Chana, as students had the chance to showcase their talents and all that they do on a regular basis at school. Using the inspiration of the Rebbetzin on 22 Shevat, Bais Chana Academy continues to proudly educate the leaders of tomorrow.
