Mrs. Aidela Perlow, 95, OBM

Mrs. Aidela Perlow, resident of Melbourne, Australia and matriarch of a Chabad family, passed away on Shabbos, 28 Kislev, 5778.

She was 95.

Ida was born in Voronizh, Russia in 1923 to Harav Hachossid Betzalel and Chaya Wilschanski. She was the daughter in-law of Harav Hachasid Chaim Mordechai Hakohen and Shaina Baila Perlow.

Ida and her husband R’ Dovid endured a life of great Mesiras Nefesh in Soviet Russia during World War II. The couple journeyed to Georgia (Kutais) and Uzbekistan and escaped Russia in the “great escape” aboard the last train leaving Lemburg.

The Perlows passed through Austria, Germany and Paris before eventually settling in Australia, living at first in Shepperton and later Melbourne.

She is survived by her children Zalman Perlow (Crown Heights) Rabbi Avraham Perlow (Mora Dasra of Tzemach Tzedek, Sydney) Mrs. Raizel Baras (Crown Heights) Mrs. Rochel Abelesz (London, UK) and Mrs. Miriom Gopin (Crown Heights).

She is also survived by her siblings R’ Chaim Ber Wilschanski and Mrs. Baila Sztillerman of Melbourne, Australia.

She was predeceased by her husband Dovid Perlow and son Yosef Yitzchak (JP) Perlow .

She is also survived by her sister Baila Stillerman from Melbourne, Australia and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Levaya will be held today at 5:00 in Melbourne.
