The Tabacinic Lubavitch-Chabad Jewish Student and Community Center, a home away from home for students, is raising $300,000 in 38 hours.
The Chabad Center, directed by Rabbi Berl and Chanie Goldman, together with Rabbi Aaron and Pessie Notik is now in their 18th year of serving students on campus.
Recently, the Chabad Center was overwhelmed by requests for assistance following the hurricanes in Florida.
A recent visit by Richard Spencer’s hate group caused unrest at the campus. The Chabad Student Center launched a good deed marathon in response.
“It was very successful and a major Kiddush Hashem and the President of the University of Florida, Kent Fuchs was with us for over two hours on campus encouraging everyone to participate and he did as well,” Rabbi Goldman said.
They were also forced to hire a security company to be on site at the Center from Wednesday morning until after Shabbos, giving students and everyone attending a visible sense of safety and security.
A 38 hour campaign is underway to raise $300,000 in support of Chabad at U of F programs.
Thanks to a generous group of matchers, your donation for 38 HOURS ONLY will be double matched.
