Shluchim from Australia, Rabbis Yaakov Barber and Yitzchak Barber, and Rabbi Laima Barber, Shliach from Mauritius, Africa, were all in Israel for a family simcha.
While there, they joined Rabbi Menachem Kutner, Director, Chabad’s Terror Victims Project (CTVP), as well as the Shliach to Kaplan Medical Center, Rabbi Idan Makanick, to visit 42-year-old, Niv, who had been brutally stabbed just a short while ago by a terrorist while working at his job in a supermarket.
They comforted and gave encouragement to Niv, whose condition, thank G-d, is improving, but who still needs our prayers on his behalf, Niv Gil ben Hadassah. During the visit, Niv was able to sit in a chair and say Tehillim (Psalms) with his visitors, a big step for him.
The Barber family then celebrated the joyous Bar Mitzvah of Menachem Mendel, Rabbi Yaakov Barber’s son, at the Western Wall. Celebrating with them was Dudi Sidov, who had been seriously wounded by a terrorist 13 years ago.
He got to know the Barber family when he went on a CTVP trip for wounded soldiers to Australia with Rabbi Kutner. The Barber family opened their home and their hearts to the soldiers, leaving a deep impression on Dudi and all the others.
We want to wish Mazel Tov to Menachem Mendel Barber – and Mazel Tov to Dudi who just married Sarit this past June. We wish the young couple many blessings and that they should build a beautiful Jewish home.
A hardy mazal tov for Menachem Mendels’s Bar Mitzwa:))) May Hashem shower the whole family with Broches AD BLI DAI:))
