Café K, the dairy kosher eatery that launched the restaurant chain of Ami Liani and Shimon Liani, has moved from its original location on Avenue K to Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn.
The brothers opted to close their meat restaurant Gourmet K at 1267 Coney Island Avenue and use the spacious location to expand Café K, offering customers a new menu, elegant decor, and newly renovated space.
By doing so, they return to the initial dairy concept that has grown from a single location to 2 additional branches – Cafe K at 4110 18 Avenue in Boro Park and Cafe K at 8 E 48 Street in Midtown Manhattan.
The cafe on Coney Island, which opened this month, features an inviting warm decor with exposed brick alongside deep red colored walls with gold accents, dim lighting, and bamboo ceiling.
The warm and inviting atmosphere is complemented by hi-tech service. Customers are given an iPad to review offerings on the menu, view photos and select their choice of dishes quickly and efficiently.
Café K is renowned as a Brooklyn staple since it opened in 1999, known for their delectable dairy menu, featuring sandwiches, salads, pastas and fish. The restaurant also boasts a new event room for Sheva Brachos or other events with seating for up to 45 people.
The new menu includes their classic favorites, such as Thai Mozzarella basket, salmon in a white wine butter sauce, and various pizzas. New dishes include fresh fish kabob with charred vegetables, homemade lox with goat yogurt and pomegranate extract, and blackened sweet potato with Malayan salt and sour cream.
“The food, the atmosphere, and exceptional service all add up to the perfect place for lunch or dinner with family or friends,” Shimon Liani, a resident of Crown Heights, told COLlive.com. “We look forward to welcoming all of you to our new location,” he said.
