Over 200 people joined for a Lag B’omer Parade and Fun Festival organized by Chabad of Baka at the First Station, a popular recreational site in Jerusalem.
The weather was exceptionally hot and school was in session on Sunday, but Baruch Hashem, that didn’t prevent an excited and diverse crowd of children from joining in the festivities on Sunday afternoon.
The event began with an entertaining show by Israeli children’s star Pico, who combined music, humor, and Jewish content to engage the crowd.
The twelve pesukim were recited with enthusiasm, and Chabad of Baka’s boys’ drumming band with their trainer led the parade through the streets of Baka.
There was great joy and palpable Jewish pride as Jews of every background marched as one in honor of the auspicious date of Lag B’Omer.
Exciting prizes were raffled off, and every child received a beautifully illustrated Chumash as a meaningful memento of the day.
The program concluded with thrilling rides and bunji jumping.
“Every year it gets better and better!” One mother from the Chabad of Baka community enthused.
“The organization and attention to detail was superb,” an older spectator remarked, with a huge smile spread across his face.
Devoted volunteers from Machon Shoshanat Yerushalayim seminary were extremely helpful throughout the event, despite having come from Meron with barely any sleep the night before.
When the shluchim thanked them for their assistance, the girls humbly responded, “Thanks for giving us the opportunity to be a part of this amazing shlichus.”
Kol Hakavod to our Rabbi.
