Israel’s Minister of Agriculture Uri Ariel was one of the few government officials who weren’t present to personally greet President Donald Trump during his first visit to Israel.
Instead, Ariel came to the Jewish community in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, to advocate for continued support for Israel and Jerusalem.
Ariel first came to Lubavitch Headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway and privately toured the main shul which was buzzing with its typical evening activity of prayers and study.
He then continued to meet a group residents at the home of R’ Chanina and Orly Sperlin. He told them he was on a tour of the U.S.
He thanked Chanina Sperlin for his activism on behalf of Israel and the Jewish community in Brooklyn and beyond.
The discussion included a suggestion from the minister about how Jews living out of Israel can fulfill the laws relating to produce growing in Israel.
Mr. Ariel also spoke warmly of the Chabad shluchim that he has met in the most distant places, including Ethiopia.
He mentioned that the government would be working closely with the shluchim, recognizing some Chabad House work as national service.
The Minister encouraged everyone present to say L’chaim in honor of the 50th anniversary of the return to Jerusalem to Jewish hands.
Moshiach Now!
So happy you are enjoying your trip to the US. Meanwhile, as Minister for Agriculture, you have been approached many times by Beit Shemesh residents about the wild dog situation & their vicious attacks on adults and children, leaving serious injuries . While you are traveling, can you kindly arrange for someone to shoot the dogs…. now that approval has been granted.
Thank you,
signed, Beit Shemesh resident
