Authorities say a 2-year-old child suffered facial injuries following a dog attack in Spring Valley on Thursday afternoon.
Sources tell YWN that the 3-year-old child was playing outside his home located at 68 N. Cole Ave with his family members at around 6:00PM, when suddenly he was viciously attacked by a Pitt Bull.
Rockland Hatzolah transported the child to the hospital with facial injuries.
The incident which can be seen in the attached video is nothing less than horror. Nothing provoked the dog to attack the child.
Neighbors tell YWN that this is not the first time this dog attacked innocent people. As can be seen in the video, a prior incident was also captured on security cameras.
Local residents are furious at authorities as they claim police were contacted about this dog in the past.
To make matters worse, police took a report at the scene and “punished” the dog by telling the owner that the dog can’t be outside for 10 days. Local residents contacted elected officials and the media. Later this evening, police arrived back at the scene and took the dog away.
Rockland Chaveirim were on the scene as well.

Per the law of ‘strict liability’ or ‘no fault liability’ when someone is injured by something inherently dangerous (and the example of a dangerous dog such as Pitt bull is used), then the owner is liable regardless. Nothing a couple of pet cougers being walked down the street couldn’t solve. Teach those pit bull owners a lesson they won’t soon forget.
A few months ago, a 9-yr.-old girl was killed by her friends pit bull. That pit bulls are still legal is shocking.

The kid will be fine…just a couple of stitches. Had a greater chance of getting hit by car for being so close to the street. The dog needs to be always leashed though.

My mom got bitten by a chow and it didn’t get fixed or anything. It didn’t get killed!!!! Also she got stitches they didn’t even pay for the medical bills.

You are mistaken. I can’t add links, but google it. APBT is a dog breed that was made especially to be an especially dangerous breed. In dogfights, this breed doesn’t respond to pain. They will continue to fight to the death missing limbs and with their guts trialing behind them in the dust. They go to this level of die or kill response very quickly, therefore making them the unmistakably most dangerous breed.
64% of death from dog mauling is from Pitbulls alone. Even Rottweilers are a measly 10% in comparison.

Pit bulls are not deadly animals they rank fifth in temperament under German sheperds labs border collies and serprisingly poodles if trained properly then can be the most loyal and calm pet

This is a horrible incident, but they are Hashem’s creations and so therefore have a purpose. We can throw them trief meat as a reward for their not barking as we left Egypt. But they owners are responsible for the harm they can potentially cause, and correct, sick ,or out of control animals need to be destroyed period!!

Re: the police letting the dog go after 10 days, if the dog
harms another child, or perhaps/even adult, the policeman/men might be eligible for a severe punishment. This is a certainty.

as it says in the article, then the owner obviously knew the potential danger this animal posed to the public. There is a wound on the child’s neck as well as cheek. Potentially very deadly circumstance, letting this beast roam freely.

my brother was attacked by a neighbor’s dog when he was 7. He needed a few stitches on his arm. The neighbor had the dog killed and paid the medical bills. We didn’t have to ask and that was the end of it. The dog was large but generally friendly and most certainly not a pit-bull.
