From the veteran sofer looking to deepen his understanding of the halacha, to a novice seeking to perfect his skill, from the bochur wanting to expand his Torah knowledge, to the layperson who has an unfulfilled desire to be engaged in holy work, everyone has a place in Yeshivas STaM.
Have you ever wondered if STaM is for you? Do you have assumptions about it that have prevented you from finding out?
Yeshivas STaM was created to resolve these questions and many more by introducing structure and organization into this halachic domain. In doing so, not only are old questions answered, but access to new opportunities within this avodas hakodesh are created.
Founded by Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok (Fitz) Rabin, himself a sought-after sofer in Crown Heights, Yeshivas STaM is distinguished by four qualities: 1) A comprehensive curriculum of shiurim in the halachos of writing STaM. 2) A reliable, well-structured practical training program for writing STaM. 3) A paid, supervised, shimush program for haga’ah (checking). 4) Personal attention and dedication to each talmid.
Yeshivas STaM is now opening registration for its summer course, which will begin on 28 Nissan (April 24) and conclude on 28 Elul (September 19) with a break in the middle. The course is part-time, with classes being held in the evenings to accommodate working men.
On Tuesday, 8 Nissan (April 4), at 8:00 pm Yeshivas STaM will be hosting an open house for men & bochurim, at 321 Kingston Avenue. A sample shiur will be delivered, followed by a discussion titled “discovering the possibilities in STaM” and Q & A session. Light refreshments will be served and a gift will be given to all attendees.
