Mesivta Ohr Temimim is a Lubavitch moisad located in Toronto, Canada. It is unique in what it offers to parents and bochurim, and it is unique in its chinuch approach and perspective.
In its successful two years of operation, it has already achieved a chinuch revolution; a revolution consistent with the Rebbe’s vision. The Mesivta aims to help each bochur advance in his Yiras Shomayim and Chassidishkeit, and strengthen his geshmak – joy in Limud Ha’Torah.
“The Mesivta was opened in response to an overwhelming demand. Parents and bochurim needed a moisad where learning at the high levels was provided in a Tomchei Temimim atmosphere. They also needed a place to give them the opportunity to obtain an accredited diploma at the same time,” said Rabbi Baruch Zaltzman, Dean.
Both the limudei kodesh and limudei chol curriculum are designed with innovations devoted to keeping bochurim stimulated and focused on their studies. Different learning tracks are provided to a bochur as needed. In this way, each bochur maximizes his learning potential.
The Mesivta also supports the bochurim having a healthy physical outlet. This approach not only provides the natural benefits of physical activity, but also leads to a much healthier mental outlook. The Mesivta’s multi-faceted curriculum incorporates extracurricular activities including, swimming, sports, music lessons and more.
Over and above the Mesivta’s programs, it has a beautiful and spacious learning facility, on-site Mikva and a beautiful clean and well-equipped dormitory. In totality, the commitment of the Mesivta towards the bochurim is to provide ideal surroundings, atmosphere, professionalism, and care for them to flourish b’ruchnius u’b’gashmiyus.
“We are just doing what experience has shown us many of today’s bochurim need,” says Rabbi Eliezer Posner, Menahel. “The entire focus remains on instilling Mentchlichkeit, Erlechkeit and Chassidishkeit in the bochurim who come into our care.”
Rabbi Posner may think that this is simple, but as many of us can attest, “We’re just doing what our experience has shown us many of today’s bochurim need” is quite the revolutionary mission statement. And it’s not just words. Now in their second year, Mesivta Ohr Temimim has a group of enthusiastic parents very happy to share how excited they are with their son’s experiences so far. “It’s been phenomenal for my son,” says Rabbi Avraham Moshe Erlenwein. “It’s such a positive experience for him and for us as parents, and all with the Mesivta being squarely in the mainstream.”
Rabbi Posner leads a dedicated group, including Rabbi M”M Shusterman, Mashpia and Magid Shiur, and General Studies professionals. He sets the tone for the staff. Together, they are the key factor in the Mesivta’s success.
“Rabbi Posner deeply cares for each one of the bochurim,” says parent Yosef Adler. “He has the rare gift of instinctively knowing what each bochur’s individual needs are. He speaks each bochur’s personal language.”
Importantly, four dynamic bochurim shluchim sent by Oholei Torah interact and help the bochurim on their individual levels. They also farbreng with the boys and coordinate extra learning programs, weekly mivtzoim and special mivtza focussed events for yomei d’pagra.
The Mesivta was founded by Rabbi Baruch Zaltzman, principal of Cheder Chabad Toronto for over 20 years. It was founded with an emphasis on individualized care. “Caring for our bochurim’s, spiritual, physical and emotional well-being is of the highest order for Ohr Temimim,” says Rabbi Zaltzman.
Everyone you talk to about the Mesivta consistently echoes the sentiments of the parents and the faculty. This is not an “alternative” destination and it wasn’t designed for bochurim who aren’t a good fit for the “system”. Our bochurim come from all over. Students hail from L.A. London, Crown Heights, Monsey, Ottawa, Chicago, Montreal, and of course, Toronto. This group of parents and talmidim chose Mesivta Ohr Temimim for one reason, and that’s because they don’t want to compromise on their Chassidishkeit.
Come and explore what we have to offer. Join us as we look forward to a most successful third year.

As a kid who grew up in Toronto and went to Cheder and the Yeshiva, i wish they had a Mesivta like this growing up, wow these kids are lucky.
Keep up the good work, great to see positive growth.
My two nephews go to this mesivta so we see first hand what a beautiful chinuch that is being given in all areas! Yashar Koiach to Rabbi Zaltzman and the rest of the hanhala and staff! The yeshiva should go from strength to strength!
So much of a successful chinuch is the bottom line. Well balanced children. Balance of Chasidishkeit , Aydelkeit, Mentchlichkeit, Hasmada and above all being happy with oneself. Parents that want all this for their boys and in addition would like to see them have the “tools” that they may one day need ie an accredited high school degree, then this Mesivta is the right choice.
Tremendous dedication and true caring!
It is the best well rounded Yeshivah, in every area!!
I am proud to send my Son Menachem every day!!
Thank you to all the amazing staffs!!

I am so glad that my children and so many families now have the option of this Mesivta and you can rest assure that your child will be looked after as an individual. Much success.
He is amazing at relating to my son and makes the Gemara learning meaningful and relevant. Such an important element in genara learning that many bochurim need today.

I have very fond memories of Rabbi Boruch Zaltzman when he was assistant principal at Oholei Torah, I was a 2nd grader and he helped maximize my potential, Yishar Koach!
May he keep going from strength to strength!
